Are You Social Networking?

Hey, I’m on Twitter, so if you are too, come check me out. Or you can see my recent posts on my Olympiahoops Twitter Widget on this website. Either way, I’m just trying to stay in touch with everybody. Although I’m thousands of miles away from almost everyone I know and love, I can feel right at home with my updates and yours. So follow me!

Social networking is a new concept that is quickly taking off. Worldwide connections are made on a daily basis thanks to the internet and Web 2.0. Who knew what MySpace started when they were just a start-up?

Now there are networking sites for parenting, friends, music, videos, sports, writing, business, and plenty other things. If you enjoy the internet, and want to find your niche, social networking may very well be the way to go. I know I’m enjoying my search for things and people to connect with. Especially, as I said earlier, since I am so far away, being all the way over here in Turkey. Speaking of which, I even have a few Turkish, Russian and Bulgarian friends on Facebook and MySpace, so that goes to show how far-reaching these sites are.

I also have a social network, or as I like to call it, an online community for this site, Olympiahoops.com. I created it because of readers like you. People who are not only reading information, but formulating opinions as well. Your voice is important to me and I would like to hear it. You can comment and vote on videos, blog posts and pictures, or you can upload your own pictures and videos and participate in discussions. You can even post live video and audio in your discussion posts and blogs, so I don’t know what gets cooler than that. OK so I didn’t mean to start talking about this site’s social network, but I figured, since I was already on the subject…

Btw, I’d like to know what social networks people are on these days, so won’t you leave your top 3-5 social networks in the comments? To be fair, I will too!
